Creative & Poetry Writing Clinic

Taught by professional Writer, Ms. Jennifer. She has published 42 books of various kinds, including novels, student essay guidance series, educational research, etc. Some of these works have won awards in the publishing industry. Learn to write with Ms. Jennifer, you can learn something that you can’t learn in school.

This course will help students become better writers by constructing pieces such as short fiction, chapters of a novel and poems.

Students will complete at least one piece of “flash” fiction, one short story, an outline of a novel and one chapter, and three to four poems for grading. Each student will submit at least one finished piece to a literary journal, digital magazine or writing contest, thus giving experience in submitting for publication.

There will be in-class exercises and constructive peer critiques. Homework will include readings and writing assignments.

Students of any ability and interest can take this course. Emphasis will be on improvement of writing, understanding and analyzing different types of literature and learning writing skills that will make students stand out among their peers!

Editorial Contest – Students share their views, discussions, and thoughts on a certain problem or topic, and tell the anecdotes they have seen. It is clearly required that the submitted article should be an evidence-based persuasive essay
This type of essay is the focus of student’s high school English learning. It is not only the focus of reading, but also the focus of writing, and it is also the content of various important English exams

Journalism – These discussion and workshop classes
will be focused on writing articles that can be submitted to
teenage-focused magazines, as well as major niche publications
that may accept articles from younger writers. Students should
also be prepared to read and research a minimum of one hour
weekly outside of class.
